It is great sadness that the National Youth Development Agency learns about the passing of the Deputy Health Minister Molefi Sefularo who died in a car accident. The NYDA sends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
“He was a dedicated and energetic leader who was able to touch numerous lives during his lifetime. We are particularly pleased with the great strides that Dr Sefularo and Minister Aaron Motsoaledi have made in educating particularly young people about HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment. Young people can learn a lot from the way he dedicated his life to serving the country,” says Andile Lungisa, the NYDA Chairperson.
According to Lungisa the NYDA enjoy a great working relationship with the Health Ministry through the National Youth Service (NYS) programme where young people are trained to become data capturers for the Department of Health in various disadvantaged regions.
In the past the NYDA has implemented NYS projects in home based care and HIV and AIDS education with the department. Recently, the late Deputy Minister met with the NYDA board to discuss the establishment of other youth development projects in the health sector.
“We hope to take this forward and develop a legacy project with the Health Ministry in his honour,” Lungisa concludes.
