Department of Home Affairs response to Cape High Court judgement

We have noted the judgment handed down today by the Cape High Court regarding the operation of the Refugee Reception Office at Voortrekker Road, Maitland.

Whilst we respect the court’s decision in this regard, we have further noted that the court has granted the department six months to rectify the land use restrictions. We are still awaiting the full judgment in order to study the same view to find an amicable resolution to the matter.
