President Jacob Zuma to chair the Masibambisane Rural Development Initiative

President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 18 February 2010 chair the Masibambisane Rural development initiative in the Nkandla/Mlalazi area in KwaZulu-Natal.

The President is a co-founder of the Masibambisane Rural Development project aimed at eradicating hunger and poverty in rural areas through creating farming initiatives that will promote households to produce and procure their own food.

The President will tomorrow morning inspect the various farming projects and partake in the ploughing and weeding together with the community. The first inspection will take place at Nkandla, Emacubeni area, he will then move to eNtumeni before ending his inspection at Mbongolwane.

Media are invited to attend the main event in Mbongolwane where the President will address Amakhosi and the community on the progress of the project.

Venue: Mbongolowane, eMlalazi (Drive to Mbongolwane Hospital travel for about +-12km then take a left turn towards Mbongolwane Hospital and travel for about 12km towards Site 3 the road signs will also be available.)

Details of the farming project inspections in the morning are as follows:

Site one: Emacubeni Community in Nkandla: 07:00-08:30am

Site two: Ekholweni Community in Entumeni: 10:30-11:

Site three: Mbongolwane Community in Mlalazi: 12:30-1:30pm
