CLUB COMPETITOR DIED TRAGICALLY AT ZWARTKOPS

A motorcycle circuit racing club competitor died tragically this morning at the Day of the Champion Motorcycle Circuit event at Zwartkops Raceway, Pretoria.

Wim Pretorius, aged 37, had an accident at turn 5 at Zwartkops Raceway at 09:24 whilst participating in the Thunderbikes race.

He started racing in the middle of 2009 and did only 8 out of 22 races for the year and ended 9th in the total points.  In 2010 he did 4 races in which he finished 2nd in two races and 1st in the other two races.  In 2011 he won the Thunderbike B Class club championship.

MSA would like to express its sincerest condolences to his loved ones, family and friends.
