Pretoria - Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Elizabeth Thabethe is expected to lead a delegation representing South African businesses to the Feira Internacional de Angola (FILDA) exhibition taking place next week.

The Department of Trade and Industry has organised a National Pavilion at FILDA and is financially assisting 29 companies including small, medium and micro enterprises, emerging exporters, women-owned enterprises and large companies to participate.

During the exhibition, to take place from 17 to 22 July 2012, South African businesses will showcase their products at the exhibition with the aim of increasing exports of South African manufactured products to Angola.

"The exhibition will expose South African companies to trade and investment opportunities available in Angola and other countries participating in the exhibition, it will also be a good platform to promote South African manufactured products in the Angolan market," said Thabethe ahead of the exhibition.

She added that the department strived to facilitate economic development through promoting outward investment, intra-Africa trade, regional industrialisation and infrastructure development within the Southern African Development Community region and the rest of Africa.
