Media invitation to the MEC’s budget speech

You are cordially invited to the policy speech vote 12 presentation by MEC Jonas whom is responsible for finance.

The presentation will among other things include:

* Plans to make to grow the value of public sector that is efficient, effective and actively led in building a developmental state
* Programme to steer government in achieving value-driven and measurable public delivery outcomes
* MEC will provide a detail objective assessment of Provincial Treasury performance 2009/10
* MEC will announce the programme to provide for prudent expenditure control
* Announce on how the state procurement (Supply Chain Management) will be strengthened, with attention being paid to cost management
* Provide detail on how financial management capacity of government and municipalities will be built
* Provide detail on how the procurement will streamline and improved
* Concentrate on how provincial treasury will improve and enrol its obligations for the oversight of municipalities in terms of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
