“We need to act urgently in Morokweng and Bojanala in partnership with the National Department of Water Affairs. There is already a service provide on the Taung Dam water distribution programme,” she said.
The Premier said as part of addressing the quality and the quantity of electric energy provided to communities, Eskom has invested at least R10 85 billion for electricity infrastructure for the next five year years. She said during this financial year alone, 10 162 new electricity connections will be made.
“Our democracy is maturing. Our people continue to show confidence in the achievement made since 1994. Our people are confident that we shall do more and will continue to lead them into a future of dignity and respect. They are aware that we have not reached all of them. They are aware that they have not been forgotten. They are aware that step by step, too slowly for their liking, we are on the way to bring the services they are awaiting and to improve the quality of what they are already getting,” she said.
She said by combating the challenges of service delivery this year and beyond, government should be involved in the delivery of basic infrastructure. “We commit our government to take reasonable measures within the available resources to ensure that these basic services are accessible to our people,” she said.
